Impatiens, Alyssum, and Dianthus are good plants to start with for the fall season as well as herbs such as rosemary, parsley, and cilantro. Although, if you are patient, you may want to wait towards the end of the month to start planting winter annuals or purchasing herbs. You may start to see them pop up at box stores, but it is still too warm for them to thrive.

If you want to start getting the fall look for your yard, add plants such as Marigold, Mums, and Snapdragons. You may also want to add shrubs such as Cape Honeysuckle, Firebush, or Wax Myrtle.
